Some Latin Jazz with a funky flair, preparing for streaming project. Pls comment
I always take into consideration comments from anyone who will listen. From my wife (who keeps saying all my songs sound the same) to the critical pointing out what I may have missed. Macjams came through for me again with helpful comments that push me to limits I have not reached since I was a much younger performer. Thanks, Guys!
Brought up the mids in the guitar and piano to make them noticeable in the mix. Now âdnn dnn dnnâ not âthmb thmb thmb.
Strings now return in the mix in the closing act âcause every element in a story must be necessary, and irrelevant elements should be removed. (Chekhovâs gun)
The head (Thematic Melody) is carried through the song, evident in the string arrangement and EP solo.
Again please leave a comment!!!
Just the strings for the last minute of the song, It will be played over the melody and solo. Your comments put me on the move guys, keep them coming! Thanks, Warren, more to come Charlie...
Sunset Pier goes back to 2005, one of my most downloaded songs at the old MJ. I'm preparing it for my streaming project I started in 2018 with the song Cancun Evening which is doing very well on Amazon Music, Spotify, and Apple Music. I never finished putting the album together for streaming. I'll be adding two songs and Sunset Pier is the third. I need your help, not just a "That sounds good", but what can sound better, where it puts you, or what you like about the song to help me fine-tune it. You've all been great about this type of help in the past. The song is a series of performances that were collected to gather the best takes to add to the song and are from 2010 - 2018. The drums are me playing the Yamaha DD-55 drum kit, Fender Mustang Bass, Yamaha DGX-500 keyboard, Yamaha E-Zag MIDI Guitar, and a Fender Strat clone I made from a kit in 1981. The E.Piano solo is Rhet Fargo, we go way back to the '80s with my first cassette release in Berkeley, Ca. in 1981.
Notes: A more dramatic approach to the mix and followed up on suggestions.
Notes: Work out the strings ensemble for the end, played over the solo guitar.
